v2.0 – 52/365: B&W Tree
This week’s photo challenges have all been black and white. It has been quite a fun assignment as I prefer to shoot in this manner. According to flickr, two of my most popular photos came from doing this weeks shooting. It has been very rewarding. (#1 and #2)
I can’t wait to see what next week brings.
Solitary Tree Part 2
This morning I had an opportunity to play with my Cokin filters again. I woke up to an overcast sky with the sun peaking through the clouds sporadically. I grabbed my graduated ND filter and my Tobacco filter and hustled out the door. My subject this morning was a subject I’ve captured before in B&W, an individual tree at my wife’s sister’s house in Blackfoot, Idaho.
A distant memory
The entire time we have lived in our neighborhood, there has been a large cottonwood tree a field about 200 yards from our house. It is referred to as the “tree house” by the kids in the area. Our kids loved it. I speak in past tense because it was cut down a couple weeks ago. It is nothing but a distant memory now. Fortunately, we also have some photographic memories of it as well.
