Lunchtime 113/365: Electricity
Night Out 111/365: Silver
I’ve been shooting quite a bit lately with my 28-135 lens. As I’ve done so, I’ve learned quite a bit about that lens and have gained a lot of confidence on what it can and can’t do well. I’ve decided to spend the next week or two shooting all photo challenges with my 50mm 1.8 to gain as much familiarity with it as my 28-135. I’ll do this as long as a challenge subject isn’t “Zoom lens”. If that happens, I’m digging out my 28-135!
Strobist: Single flash camera left through a shoot through umbrella. Flash triggered by Cybersyncs.
Coloring Eggs
We had a wonderful time coloring eggs today. I captured the entire event using a remote fired flash sitting in a high-tech shoe light stand taught by the strobist.
Strobist: Single flash 1/2 power sitting in a shoe pointing at the wall for bounce. The flash was triggered by a Cybersync trigger.

He Dresses Himself 92/365: Colorful
Okay, so I had decided I wasn’t going to shoot Toby for a while because you all are probably getting sick of him. But, look at how he dressed himself today. I couldn’t help it.
Strobist: Single Blue Gelled Flash 1/2 power pointed at the background, large window camera right, silver reflector camera left. Flash triggered with CyberSyncs.
Toby
I caught this photo of Toby resting his head on Min’s shoulder as I was chimping my exposure getting ready to take a few family portraits. I liked the peaceful look on his face.
Strobist: ISO 100, f/5.6, single flash camera right shot through a shoot through umbrella. Triggered with CyberSyncs.
Toby is a very interesting boy. There is something about him that draws people to him. He has the ability to wiggle his way into anyone’s heart. He is a fun loving boy who let me shoot a lot of photos of him last night, (100+) and in everyone he had a different facial expression. He likes to make people laugh and is very good at it which sometimes gets him in trouble!
This picture is #4 in my 100 People I know set.
89/365: Children
This is my first published shot with off camera flashes. I had many others strobist shots that turned out better, but none of my children being children.
My children love to read. We are constantly walking past their rooms at night and finding them with a flashlight or some other lighting device reading. It is great.
Strobist Info: 1 Gelled flash at 1/32 power held by my son. Triggered by CyberSync triggers.
