Kamas 163/365: Neon

without comments

I really like the town I live in.  I consider myself very fortunate to be able to live here and interact with the wonderful people that also call it home.

Kamas, Utah 84036 124/365: Mail

without comments

Every workday I take a break and walk to the post office to retrieve my mail.  There are people I see during this daily routine that I have only met here.  They are good people.  I look forward each day to going to get mail and find out who I will see and to chat with them for a little while.

Springtime 109/365: Clock

without comments

When originally shot flags earlier in the year, I wasn’t feeling well and didn’t really like my flag entry. When today was announced as clock, I thought I’d do a two for one and shoot the clock at our city building which also has a flag.

As a side note, it is interesting the more I shoot with my gear the better and better I come to know its ability.  At f/7.1, my 28-135 lens is crazy sharp.  It is definitely a noticeable sweet spot.

Rush Hour 106/365: Traffic

without comments

I wanted to create this photo for today’s challenge, not because it is creative, but rather it documents the town I live in very well.  This is the 8am traffic in our sleepy little town.  There isn’t much going on, but I love it.

Closed Sunday 102/365: Sacrifice

without comments

Here in Kamas there is a great pizza parlor ran by a man whom I consider to be a great man.  He and I belong to the same religion and part of our religious beliefs included Sunday observances.  He is a small business owner and as part of his understanding of his beliefs, he closes business on Sundays.  As a result, he is missing out on potential revenue.  I admire his dedication to doing what he feels to be right.  I know he doesn’t consider this a sacrifice at all, but it truly is.

I took photos 97, 98, and 99 while on vacation.  I’ve posted them on my flickr account, but I’ve not placed them here.

An End Of Sorts – 73/365: Sunsets

without comments

This was a pretty fun photo to shoot, the whole family came along and we enjoyed a nice sunset as I clicked away.  Afterwards, we all came home and voted on which shot was going to be published.
