Gage
This kid is so hard to photo. He moves so much, but has so much fun.
My wife held the black side of a reflector to Gage’s right to add a bit of shadow and depth to the photo. It was processed using a variety of tools from Color Efex Pro. I absolutely love that software. Final sepia was done using a preset in Lightroom.
Golden Circle 255/365: Fabric Macro
Today’s shot used my $6 shipped macro extension tubes. Pretty good bang for my buck.
While I had my macro extension tubes attached to my camera I decided to go for a black and white leaf. Unfortunately, it is really windy right now so my focus is somewhat suspect.
Suburbia 242/365: Order
Modern Suburbia along with its Home Owners Associations are an attempt at enforcing order. There are regulations on yards, roof pitch angles, percentage of the front of your home that has to be brick, the list goes on and on. I live in a place governed by such regulations and understand what they are trying to do, but I no longer agree entirely with the forced sameness of everything.
Found In Haystack 235/365: Needle
I’ve had this image in my mind most of the day after I learned the subject. To make this shot I used the gold side of my reflector and shot my photo warm so that the natural light coming from the other side of the frame would take on a blue hint. I think the colors go well together and the blue adds some depth.
We’ve not had internet access for a few days here. I did take some of the challenge photos, such as the out of focus shot, but I wasn’t too impressed with it and it isn’t being published.

202/365: Hair
On The Outskirts Of Town 95/365: Trees
He Dresses Himself 92/365: Colorful
Okay, so I had decided I wasn’t going to shoot Toby for a while because you all are probably getting sick of him. But, look at how he dressed himself today. I couldn’t help it.
Strobist: Single Blue Gelled Flash 1/2 power pointed at the background, large window camera right, silver reflector camera left. Flash triggered with CyberSyncs.
89/365: Children
This is my first published shot with off camera flashes. I had many others strobist shots that turned out better, but none of my children being children.
My children love to read. We are constantly walking past their rooms at night and finding them with a flashlight or some other lighting device reading. It is great.
Strobist Info: 1 Gelled flash at 1/32 power held by my son. Triggered by CyberSync triggers.
