Scared Away 140/365: Bird
I stalked this bird for a while and then frightened it away before I could capture it.
I’ve been playing with Nik Silver Efex Pro and this is the Holga effect applied with a bit more grain.
Chance Of Rain 135/365: Storm
Our skies are pure blue, no sign of storm at all so when my son was crying and my wife holding him, I took a shot. I feel semi badly about exploiting his sadness for the photo, but my wife was comforting him, there was little else I could do.
Mothers Day 130/365: Eyes
Mother dear, I love you so,
Your lovely, shining eyes
Are like stars the twinkle
Way up in the bright blue skies
–Maud Belnap Kimball
I’ve mentioned before that my children have very expressive, sharp, and reflective eyes. They get it from their mother. When I saw eyes were the challenge, I knew I would shoot her. Happy Mother’s Day Melinda, you are wonderful mother and I love you very much.
128/365: Truck
In honor of my Dad being hit by a car while in the Bahamas two days ago I decided to go for a low shot of a truck.
No worries, he’s fine and back in the States. Nothing major, mostly an interesting story now.
Kamas, Utah 84036 124/365: Mail
Every workday I take a break and walk to the post office to retrieve my mail. There are people I see during this daily routine that I have only met here. They are good people. I look forward each day to going to get mail and find out who I will see and to chat with them for a little while.
Maintenance 119/365: Ice
I decided to document a big piece of my life for this photo. Even more than photography, running plays a big role in my life. I run what most would consider quite a few miles every day. I will easily run over 1500 miles in this calendar year. As I get older, my joints begin to hurt more and more requiring me to ice down after each run.
Springtime In Kamas 118/365: Tire
Stumped 117/365: Paper
Springtime 109/365: Clock
When originally shot flags earlier in the year, I wasn’t feeling well and didn’t really like my flag entry. When today was announced as clock, I thought I’d do a two for one and shoot the clock at our city building which also has a flag.
As a side note, it is interesting the more I shoot with my gear the better and better I come to know its ability. At f/7.1, my 28-135 lens is crazy sharp. It is definitely a noticeable sweet spot.
