Everything Should Taste Like Bacon 134/365: Salt
I got a set of bacon salt from a friend for Christmas. I love their motto.
Overgrown 133/365: Rock
Spring has hit and hit fast. Our grass is growing so quickly. I love this time of year.
I’ve been very impressed with other people’s sun flares lately and have been determined to see if I can incorporate them into my photos as well.
Can I Have A Ride 132/365: Small
Sunset
My wife will probably not be too happy I posted this photo. The purpose wasn’t to do a portrait shoot, but to play around with my lights and the wonderful sunset. It was for practice.
So here she is after a long day of controlling the three little kids and the one adult who too often acts like a kid.
To shot this, I first exposed for the sky and then brought in my flash to the appropriate level. It was a fun exercise.
Strobist: single flash shot through a shoot through umbrella camera left.
Vase 131/365: Glass
Mothers Day 130/365: Eyes
Mother dear, I love you so,
Your lovely, shining eyes
Are like stars the twinkle
Way up in the bright blue skies
–Maud Belnap Kimball
I’ve mentioned before that my children have very expressive, sharp, and reflective eyes. They get it from their mother. When I saw eyes were the challenge, I knew I would shoot her. Happy Mother’s Day Melinda, you are wonderful mother and I love you very much.
128/365: Truck
In honor of my Dad being hit by a car while in the Bahamas two days ago I decided to go for a low shot of a truck.
No worries, he’s fine and back in the States. Nothing major, mostly an interesting story now.
MBP 127/365: Screw
Not the shot I was hoping to get today. I don’t know for sure what I was after, but it involved a bit more searching than this represents. It’s been busy, but that’s good.
Breakfast 126/365: Pepper
My wife is a wonderful cook and a very thoughtful person. I had to work all night as we were moving servers around to new racks and when I came home for breakfast, this is what she had waiting for me. This is the typical amount of pepper we would put on our food, we like to spice things up quite a bit.
Fake Photosynthesis 125/365: Leaf
The sky was unbelievably dull today creating a very flat light which wasn’t what I was hoping it would be for this shot. Fortunately, I had a backup plan. I pulled out my flash and gelled it with a CTO gell to make it feel like the sun was on the budding leaf.
Strobist: 1 CTO gelled flash camera right at 1/4 power. Triggered remotely with CyberSync triggers. My wife was acting as my VAL.
